Tommy wearing the Cop Outfit
The Cop is an outfit that appears in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.
Background[]
Appearance[]
The outfit takes on the appearance of a Vice City Police Department officer. The outfit consists of a light brown shirt complete with a badge over the left breast, a white undershirt, brown pants, black shoes, and a black gun belt with a holster on the right side.
Purpose[]
The outfit is unlocked after completing the mission Cop Land. This outfit is important for the player if the player wants to access protected areas such as Fort Baxter Air Base or the Washington Beach Police Station. While the player is wearing the uniform, the police won't shoot the player inside the police station, allowing him to move freely inside. The outfit also allows easy access inside Fort Baxter Air Base without being shot on sight by the soldiers. However, both parties will still attack the player if the player obtains a wanted star (police) or if the player attacks or threatens the soldiers in any way. Like other outfits in the game, the player can change into the outfit to eliminate a wanted level that is less than two stars, regardless if the player was already wearing it or not.
Role in Missions[]
The outfit is first used in Cop Land to gain access to the Tarbrush Café, which is under heavy police guard after a failed attempt by Tommy's crew to destroy it before. Tommy and Lance both use the outfits, which they stole from other officers, to disguise themselves as cops to officially destroy the café once and for all.
Tommy uses the outfit again to disguise himself as a cop to break Cam Jones out of police custody, although the player can freely choose to complete the mission without wearing the outfit.

- Washington Beach Police Station: found in the locker room of the station after the mission Cop Land is completed.
Trivia[]
- The cop outfit serves the same purpose as the Army Fatigues in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories. While the protagonists wear these outfits, the player can freely access Fort Baxter Air Base without worrying about being attacked by the soldiers.
