Haiti, also known as the Republic of Haiti, is a country located on the island of Hispaniola in the Caribbean Sea. Haiti shares it's only land boarder with the Dominican Republic, located to the east. Across the Caribbean waters to the west lie the island countries of Cuba and Jamaica, and the territory of Navassa Island, a currently disputed territory between the United States and Haiti. Port-au-Prince is the nation's capital and largest city.
In the Grand Theft Auto series, Haiti is referenced in both Grand Theft Auto Vice City and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories. In Vice City, the district of Little Haiti is named after the Republic, which is also based off the real-life Miami counterpart. Auntie Paulet was born in Port-au-Prince in 1900, and her gang also originates from the country. Haitian Air, an airline business makes routine flights from Haiti to Vice City.
