|Appearances:||GTA Vice City|
GTA San Andreas
GTA Vice City Stories
|Vehicle type:||Civilian aircraft|
|Body style:||2-door helicopter|
|Capacity||2 (one pilot and one passenger)|
As the vehicle looks, the helicopter is simply an improved version of a regular Sparrow, but features pontoons instead of landing skids and features a .50 caliber machine gun mounted below its fuselage. The pontoons allow the vehicle to land on water without sinking.
In GTA Vice City, this is the only helicopter in the game that can land on water, unless the player makes it possible for other vehicles to float on water with the use of cheats. The helicopter is available for the player to use after collecting 80 hidden packages, as until then, it can't be found anywhere else. It will spawn behind the Vercetti Estate after it is unlocked, reguardless if the mission Rub Out is completed or not.
The vehicle is required for unlocking in GTA San Andreas and GTA Vice City Stories, and can be found in certain places in the games. The vehicle is used in the mission "The Colonel's Coke" and the side-mission "Land Sea and Air Ace", but cannot be accessed outside of these missions. Because the engine is fully exposed, the helicopter is highly susceptible to gunfire, but is particularly useful for reaching collectibles (such as oysters in GTA San Andreas), quick maneuvering, and shooting down other helicopters.
- In GTA Vice City Stories, If the player lands the helicopter on the water then exits, the helicopter will not be steady, unlike in GTA San Andreas and GTA Vice City.
- In GTA Chinatown Wars, there is another helicopter that is similar to the Sea Sparrow. It is actually a different helicopter and both are not the same, so it shouldn't be confused with the Sea Sparrow.
- In GTA San Andreas, the Sea Sparrow plays the radio station K-DST by default when entered.
